The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to begin their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the events of the third episode show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and advises that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as key figures in House Halovar could assist the team access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
